With ACAS' support, Alianza por tus Derechos was able to undertake a much needed refurbishment to their psychological consultation room, as well as buy materials needed for the phychological support, therapy sessions, such as puppets, paper, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, a blackboard, and other recreational games, so that children have adequate space to receive therapy. In addition, thanks to ACAS support, Alianza por tus Derechos was able to cover the cost of buying snacks for children, all many are from extremely poor backgorunds, and  often come to their facilities without having had even one meal in the day.



We strive to ensure that grants, however small, are well directed and

correctly used.


It is our Policy that:


  • Grants can be proposed by Council members, British Missions in Central America or Central American Embassies in London.

  • Grants will be given to organisations in the member countries that are already operating and, preferably, not in receipt of substantial aid from international organisations.

  • Grants should be for a specific and tangible purpose / project, not for administration costs and be in the region of GBP500.00

  • Organisations should have a focus on supporting children or the elderly.

  • Organisations will be selected from the member countries in such a way as to ensure all member countries benefit, as far as is reasonably practicable, over the years

Fundemac seeks to improve the living conditions of children and girls in rural areas of El Salvador through commitment to quality education and equity, enabling children to have more opportunities development and growth.

With ACAS' support this year they will be able to provide education materials, books and others to 420 children as well as providing transport to the theatre group to visit remote schools.

ASCATED (Asociación de capacitación y asistencia técnica en educación y discapacidad) - Guatemala
ASNIC (Asociacion Nicaraguense para la Integracion Comunitaria) - Nicaragua

ASCATED supports education inclusion for children with disabilities and provides support for their families and their teachers at schools. 

With our support last year, ASCATED supported 300 children in San Marcos, Huehuetenango, Baja Verapaz, Chimaltenango, Escuintla y Sacatepéquez. 

ASNIC works to defend the rights of people with disabilities, to ensure they are socially included and that they can participate fully as citizens. 

With ACAS' support in 2015, 60 children and young people with disabilities from Ocotal Diriamba and Managua and 30 teachers from local schools and from disability centres were able to participate in an international campaign called "Draw Disability" which aims to encourage dialogue and raise awareness on disability among teachers and students within educational environments and to create a global art project focused on disability. 

Fabretto works to empower underserved children and their families in Nicaragua to reach their full potential, improve their livelihoods, and take advantage of economic opportunity through education and nutrition. 

Our support in 2015, helped to supply the enrichment classrooms in Cusmapa, located in the northern part of the country, with paper, posters, pencils, folders, art supplies, and textbooks. Cusmapa it is one of the most impoverished regions. This project supported 580 primary students.

Eva Russell School (Stand by Me) - Dominican Republic

The Eva Russell School is situated in the town of Monte Plata. It provides high quality education for 179 children. As part of the programme children receive breakfast, lunch, tutoring and medical care, as well as enjoyinh games, treats and a summer camps. 

ACAS' grant in 2015 helped to stock their library with new books. 

Vamos al Museo - El Salvador

Vamos al Museo, was created as a specific project within the education department of the MARTE Museum with the objective of bringing children from all over the country, to see their country’s national art and spend a day exploring their creativity.

Through ACAS' support in 2015, many children from some of the most rural, marginalised communities in the country, were able to visit the museum. The grant covered transport costs for these children to enjoy the museum.
